United States Dollar ( Code : USD , Sign :$) )

The United States dollar is the official currency of the United States of America and its overseas territories.

It is divided into 100 smaller units called cents. One popular explanation on how the symbol $ formed was the result of a late 18th-century evolution of the scribal abbreviation "ps" for the peso. The p and the s eventually came to be written over each other giving rise to $.

Currently printed United States dollar banknotes denominations are $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. Notes above the $100 denomination stopped being printed in 1946 and were officially withdrawn from circulation in 1969.

Of the total currency circulated in the world approximately 850.7 billion USD is circulated and that is 19.97% of the total currency circulated. It's second after euro.
